The Pont Couverts in Strasbourg

The cosmopolitan city of Strasbourg - often referred to as 'the crossroads of Europe' - is located near the German border in the northeast Alsace region of France.

Strasbourg is the seat of the European Court of Human Rights and hosts the European Parliament along with Brussels in Belgium.

Travelers are drawn to Strasbourg for its architectural and cultural heritage. The city's historic core - known as the Grand ÎIle - is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to bustling public squares, boutiques, museums, galleries and its crowning glory - the Gothic, sandstone Cathédrale Notre Dame.

Strasbourg's most iconic site is the Pont Couverts, with its four towers spanning the bridge. A boat tour of the city's waterways is an excellent way to take in Strasbourg's architectural delights.

Strasbourg has an international airport. There are also plans to extend France's high-speed rail line to Strasbourg.
