So Much World is here to guide your itchy feet.
Whether you're learning to tango in Argentina, dog-sledding across frozen Arctic ocean or soaking up the Mediterranean sun from a Croatian sailboat, we'll be there with you, exploring the planet.
So Much World believes in travel's ability to inspire and transform. Travel doesn't just open our eyes, it whispers sweet nothings in our ears, tantalizes our tastebuds, challenges our sense of reality and creates memories that linger long after the holiday tan has faded.
Travel stumbles across love, invites adventure, speaks in strange tongues, pushes us to our physical limits and chills us right out.
As the adage goes, we travel not to escape life, but so life does not escape us. Whether we're travelling to make the world a better place or simply to find our place in the world, travel can make time meaningless and life meaningful.
Here at So Much World, we are creating an international community of passionate travellers. We want you to tell your stories, share your tips and most importantly, grab your toothbrush and come along for the ride.
There is a common misconception that you need time and money to travel. Why not be a tourist in your home town? Put on your travelling clothes, strap on a day pack and head into town with a sense of adventure and expectancy. Visit local attractions - museums, parks and cafes - in the way a tourist might, perhaps even checking into a backpackers or a hotel for a couple of nights. Thinking like a traveller, you'll discover new things, meet new people and perhaps feel tempted to spread your wings and travel further afield.
You can take time out without necessarily having to travel further than your doorstep. Daily meditation can clear your head as effectively as good holiday. Or find a place close to your home or work, a park, a lake or your garden, and make it your personal sanctuary. Visit it regularly and use it as a place to read, plan new adventures and take stock of your life.
Saving up for that dream trip may involve five years of putting money aside every week, but it'll be worth the effort and imagine the fun you'll have planning it!
What do you want out of your travels and how are you going to achieve that? You'd be amazed how few people actually ask themselves these questions. You'll get so much more out of your travels by researching the traditions and cultures of the place you're visiting. What are the local attractions? Are there any good day trips from your holiday destination? What kind of food will you try? Should you master some of the local language before you arrive? What do you want to be able to tell people when you get back? What is it you're really trying to achieve with your holiday time?
By extracting yourself from your regular routine, travel allows you to clear your mind and reassess your goals. What areas of your life are you unhappy with? Your job? Social life? Health? Relationships? Use your holiday as an opportunity to gather your thoughts, learn about yourself, discover your potential and plot your future.
All too often holidays lead to relationship friction or break-ups. The pressure and expectations hanging over a vacation can often result in an anti-climax. To avoid this, be clear with each other about your individual and combined goals for the trip. Think about how you might use the time and space travel provides to actually improve your relationship. Travel is also a great time to meet new people and many successful relationships begin in far-flung places. You're much more likely to meet interesting people if you're doing interesting things, so don't be afraid to push your comfort zone.
If you keep doing the same things, you'll keep getting the same results. Do something new and you'll get new results. If you always go on beach breaks, try a city vacation. Or if you always stay in five-star hotels and eat at the best restaurants, try your hand at camping in the wilderness, digging your own toilet and building a fire.
